Dos & Don’ts

Dos

  • Use the traditional path – Marakoottam, Saramkuthi, Nadapanthal – to reach Sannidhanam.
  • Please get your Virtual-Q tokens verified at Pamba Ganapathy Temple before starting the journey.
  • Follow the queue system to reach Padunettambadi and the Nadapanthal flyover for the return journey.
  • Ascertain the prevailing crowd situation and proceed to Sannidhanam only as guided by the Administration and Police.
  • Take rest for 5 minutes after walking for every 10 minutes during the climb.
  • Use medical facilities and oxygen parlors if required.
  • Children, aged devotees, and Malikapurams should wear identification cards with contact details.
  • If separated from your group, report at police aid posts.
  • While using Dolly, make payment only at the Devaswom counter and keep the receipt.
  • Cooperate with Police and Vigilance staff during security checks.
  • Inform police about suspicious persons or unattended items.
  • Keep Pampa, Sannidhanam, and trekking paths clean; use waste bins only.
  • Sabarimala is a no-plastic zone—maintain a plastic-free environment.
  • Park vehicles only in the allotted parking slots.

Don'ts

  • Do not consume alcohol, tobacco, non-vegetarian food, or drugs near Sabarimala and Pampa.
  • Do not climb the Padunettambadi without Deeksha and Irumudi Kettu.
  • Do not break coconuts anywhere except at designated spots near Padunettambadi.
  • Do not kneel while climbing the holy steps.
  • Do not use any path other than the Nadapanthal flyover for return.
  • Do not rest at Upper Thirumuttam or Thanthrinada.
  • Do not place Viris (mats) on pathways at Nadapanthal and Lower Thirumuttam.
  • Do not argue with or obstruct Devaswom or Police staff on duty.
  • Do not use soap or detergents while bathing in the Pamba River or Bhasmakkulam.
  • Do not park vehicles at Pamba or other prohibited locations—use Nilackal Parking.
  • Do not carry firecrackers, weapons, cooking gas, stoves, etc. during the pilgrimage.
